About Craft Mirth
Free calculators for the sums that come before the fun part of a craft: how much wax, resin, plaster, cord or balloons to buy, and how to mix them.
What it is
Craft Mirth has a candle making calculator, an epoxy resin calculator, a plaster mix calculator, a macramé cord calculator, a balloon garland calculator and a craft project planner. Weights are shown in grams and ounces, volumes in millilitres and US fluid ounces, side by side.
Where the numbers come from
Densities, mixing ratios and limits come from the makers' own data sheets, and safety advice from fire and safety bodies such as the NFPA, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and the UK Health and Safety Executive. Each page lists its sources. Where there is no published figure, as with macramé cord or balloons per foot, the page calls it a rule of thumb and lets you change it. Your own product's data sheet always beats ours.
How it works
Everything is worked out in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, there are no accounts, and the project planner keeps its cards in your browser's own storage. The privacy page has the details, including the cookie-free page counter the site uses.
